MEDIREK has provided safety and medical services to a wide range of clients, overcoming a variety of problems and challenges on behalf of the client.
Medirek strives to provide best in class cover, whether it be assisting in safety planning or developing emergency plans, proposing and operating top rate medical teams in a range of environments, providing safety and medical support to the film and TV sector or even providing fire cover to high risk sites, we have a breadth of demonstrable experience across a range of applications.
Below is an entirely non-exhaustive list of some of the key things we have delivered and achieved so far. Hopefully demonstrating the breadth of our service implementation.

Live at Loseley 2024 & 2025
Services Taken: On Site Safety Management, Emergency and Event Safety Planning, Medical Planning and Medical Cover, Event Control and Logging
We managed the design and deployment of site traffic flows, integrating a host of volunteers that were set to marshal the carparks and traffic flow through what is a tight and technical site and ensured that the car park area was appropriately laid out to avoid any vehicles becoming stuck and that emergency access could be maintained to all points of the carpark if a fire or incident were to occur.
A new event concept bought a range of performances to the picturesque grounds of Loseley House. This event demanded the utmost attention and allowed for nothing being left to chance given the historic nature and good reputation the venue holds. The team asked us to provide a full suite of services including emergency and event safety planning, onsite health and safety and incident management and provision of medical services.
We produced a suite of documentation satisfy both the venue and local authority that the event was planned and due to be executed with safety in mind and we organised for a range of support services including seeking and tailoring security services on behalf of the client and integrating the security provider into our planning activities so that they could provide the best operational service possible. We also contacted the local fire service after identifying that the site presented a potentially heightened fire risk in order to understand if there were any pre determined alarms (PDAs) and established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the site so that we could ensure that the event did not conflict with any emergency response if necessary. This investigation also allowed us to locate and test a number of fire hydrants in the close proximity that would likely be used in case of fire, and lead to the repositioning of the fireworks display that later then lead to the entire rotation of the site.
We also implemented an event control and logging system so that all event decision making could be captured in case of scrutiny and provided on site assistance during the event ‘live’ phase to ensure the safe and efficient management of crowds as well as ensuring that vendors and contractors were compliant with health and safety protocol established either by the client or ourselves.
We were again requested back to support this event in 2025, engaging with the local authority and the venue more readily in this subsequent year and implementing fixes and improvements we’d noted from debriefing and reviewing operations over the 2024 event.

Night Time Economy Demand Reduction – On behalf of Guildford and Waverley Healthcare Alliance (NHS)
Services Taken: Medical Cover
In 2023, we provided an ‘SOS bus’ style service over the Christmas period at extremely short notice in Guildford Town after the initially planned provider was unable. This was quite the challenge for us at the time as we were an extremely small company with a small but close knit team of clinicians. This service was provided with success, providing paramedic led cover over a number of high-peak evenings in December with a view to reduce the demand on local services. However, in operating the service, we identified that the same aim could be achieved much more effectively and for less cost due to a reduction in staffing requirement if the model was adapted to a vehicle based, mobile ‘see and treat’ service. This concept was put to the healthcare alliance and it’s initial offering was provided to the town centre during the 2024 Euros, providing a highly effective resource that offered a clinician led response to a range of medical incidents, but also provided a ready resource to safeguard those in vulnerable situations or in need of welfare assistance and providing much welcomed ‘top cover’ to already established pastoral services like Guildford Street Angels. Importantly however, the model achieved it’s aim of reduce demand on ambulance and local health services and the same model was commissioned again in December 2024 to provide cover over a number of weekends within the confines of a clearly defined ‘town centre footprint’ and the local university campus – University of Surrey, who also part funded this winter iteration of the scheme.
The scheme proved a roaring success, with a number of incidents attended prior to NHS ambulance, and once ambulance control were updated with more accurate and clinical assessment of reported incidents ambulance control were able to make a more informed decision to stand down their resources and divert the to more deserving incidents. The resource again provided an excellent safeguarding and welfare resource with the crew periodically patrolling the town centre, university campus and interconnecting roads and engaging with anyone who looked worse for wear or in need of assistance, with much of the efforts directed by local business who form part of the local business crime reduction partnership (operated by Experience Guildford) and PubWatch, as well as the service working closely with University Campus Safety to provide a much needed medical response to a range of medical and mental health incidents, with either onward care arranged, or most appropriate care signposted to the patient and at the very least negating the attendance of an NHS ambulance.
A full report on the scheme can be downloaded/read below – but it is estimated the scheme saved the NHS in excess of £11,000 all things considered.

Person of Interest (Channel 4)
Services Taken: On Site Safety Management, Safety Planning including Risk Assessment and Medical Services
We were approached by an ambitious production company Halcyons Hearts Films who wanted to produce a new ‘fim-noir’ project starring Asim Chaudary as a uber driver in the midst of a mental breakdown. Written by Aysha Rafaele this production was stark contrast to roles Chaudary is normally seen in.
We assisted this production in attending tech recces, providing advice and listening to their creative goals to then understand how we could help faciltate this in the safest and most efficient way.
We produced comprehensive Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS), provided on-site safety guidance and overwatch and medical assistance for the full duration of the production.

Farnham Carnival 2025
Services Taken: Medical Services
We provided assistance to the organisers of Farnham Carnival. A well attended and established family carnival in the heart of Farnham, Surrey. What makes the event quite unique and a challenge to provide cover for is that it encompasses the majority of the town centre road network and attracts thousands onto the pavements to watch the procession.
We worked with the organiser to establish the medical risk and how they intended to run their event and then came up with an Event Medical Plan consisting of a clinician led medical centre, roving response team and a rapid response vehicle spread out across the event footprint initially but briefed to ‘follow the demand’ where necessary. This resulted in excellent response times to incidents or illness and injury and thanks to the level of clinical ability onsite, we were able to ensure no undue pressure on local healthcare infrastructure – instead dealing with the patients in house!

Compare The Market (Commercial)
Services Taken: Medical Services, Film Medic
Following the inception of a new series of adverts, we were engaged by a production company on behalf of Compare The Market to provide a unit medic service across a number of days and locations involving a relatively large cast given a a large number of supporting artists were used.
The client requirement varied somewhat throughout the course of the production, but once this was communicated to us we took it in our stride and ensured we kept on top of all things medical providing first aid assistance as well as remaining onsite until derigging had completed each day.

School Sports Cover
Services Taken: Medical Services
We have provided, and continue to provide professional and discrete medical assistance to a number of private schools to support their rugby, football and sports programmes.
In most cases these services go one step further, as we look to interface with existing medical services at these schools to either refer patients for ongoing care or leverage their facilities to ensure the patients get top flight care.
We provide pitch side medical teams, capable of rapidly attending, assessing and if necessary immobilising patients to reduce the risk of further harm and promote the best patient outcome.

Kidnapped: Elizabeth Smart (Netflix)
Services Taken: Medical Services
Working with Minnow Films, we provided unit medical services for the duration of this production. The topic of this documentary was emotive and thought provoking, requiring our crew to be switched on and ensure that we provided approachable pastoral care for the crew during the filming activities.

Dirty Business (Channel 4)
Services Taken: Medical Services, Safety Management/Health and Safety, Water Rescue
Returning to work with Halcyons Heart Films, we were engaged to provide and manage a full suite of safety and medical services to support this production focusing on corruption within the water industry and the damage the water companies have caused to our rivers and water ways which has ultimately lead to deaths and life changing conditions.
We provided a breadth of safety advice, including producing a suite of production and location based risk assessments as well as managing the intentions of the various departments where more specialist works had to be undertaken. We also provided water safety and rescue capabilities and had our medical staffing onsite throughout the shooting period.
We were required to work closely with the production company to ensure the creative aims of the programme were met while ensuring the safety of the crew in some quite risk heavy environments.

Helipad – Aviation and Airfield Safety
Services Taken: Safety Management Services
We continue to provide a retained service to Helipad – a company providing some of the largest temporary licensed event heliports to the biggest events and venues all over the country, including Silverstone, Cheltenham Racecourse, Aintree Racecourse and York Racecourse.
We primarily engage to manage and run their airport fire service with our director acting as ‘Senior Airport Fire Officer’ in this case and have devised a host of paperwork and safety systems that ensure that the Airport Fire Service is competent in their duties and that we can appropriately respond to Civil Aviation Authority queries when they audit the service prior to issuing the airfield license. During a live event, we provide airfield ops assistance as well as responding to incidents where they occur to ensure the smooth and safe running of the airfield in a series of uniquely challenging environments.
We also assist in managing response to request for remote landing officers and night lighting where necessary as well as ensuring a consistent standard is maintained in the crew with frequent training for those that form part of the fire crew.
